I’m Mya Smith, and dance has been a central part of my life since I was three years old. Dancing in the genres of ballet, tap, jazz, hiphop, lyrical, contemporary, acrobatics, and improvisation. I started competing at the age of nine and continued until I was 15, constantly pushing myself to grow as a performer. At 16, I made the leap into professional dance. Training with Joffrey South, Jeremy Green, Jasmine Harper (So You Think You Can Dance), and shooting movies and music videos with Xcel Talent Agency and ThatGirlLaylay, which has been an incredibly rewarding journey. Around the same time, I also began working in child care settings. Balancing my love for dance with my passion for nurturing young minds has been a fulfilling experience, and I’m grateful for the opportunities I’ve had in both areas.
