Ashia Carpenter found her love for dance and gymnastics at just 3 years old. She has traveled the country training and competing in national dance and gymnastics competitions while training competitively at Action Gymnastics, DC Dance Factory and Nashville School of the Arts. She moved to Chattanooga, TN in 2009 for college at UTC where she danced on their dance team for 4 years while teaching gymnastics. There she obtained her bachelor’s degree in Child and Family Studies while minoring in Entrepreneurship. She graduated in 2013 and decided to pursue her graduate degree from Tennessee Technological University. She graduated from TTU in 2014 with her Master’s in Business Administration with a Human Resource Management Concentration. That very month she established Divine Dance Studio in Chattanooga, TN. In 2019 she relocated her studio to Marietta, GA. Ashia has a passion for teaching dance and gymnastics and finds the greatest joy in having a positive influence on the lives of young people
Ameen Price-Burnett is a professional performer based in the Atlanta area. He received his Bachelor of Arts degree in Musical Theatre and Dance from The University of Alabama. His credits include working for Norwegian Cruise Lines as a production cast dancer from 2016-2019, being a 2015 Young Choreographer for the Young Choreographer's Festival in New York City at Symphony Space, and a scholarship alumnus of the prestigious Summer Professional Semester at Broadway Dance Center. Roll Tide and let's dance together! that anything is possible through passion, hard work, and a positive mindset.
Christiana “Chrissy” McLeod Horn is a movement artist and archivist in the Atlanta, GA area. Originally from Augusta, GA, McLeod Horn centers her work around embodied memory through the lens of afrofuturism. She actively engages with dance creation, creative direction, dance filmmaking, and pedagogy in the professional realm following her matriculation at Spelman College, which resulted in a Bachelors’ in Dance Performance and Choreography. McLeod Horn has toured nationwide training in contemporary modern dance forms, and procured much of her formal dance training under the tutelage of former Garth Fagan principal dancer, Sharon Skepple Mayfield. She holds experience in studying and teaching ballet, tap, jazz, West African, hip-hop, liturgical and step dance forms.
Christina Elia began her training in Cecchetti and Vaganova technique at a young age through Suwanee Youth Ballet. Christina began her professional career as an Atlanta Hawks Cheerleader from 2014-2016 and was chosen to represent the NBA in Taiwan in 2015. She spent three seasons training and performing as a company member for Atlanta Dance Collective, and she currently serves as co-captain in her second season with the College Park Skyhawks. Christina can’t wait to see how a foundation in ballet technique can help you accomplish your dance and fitness goals!
Born and raised in Maryland, Emily Allred began her dance training at a very young age. Training in modern, contemporary, ballet, pointe, tap, jazz, hip hop, improvisation, and choreography and composition, Emily soon realized she wanted to dedicate her life to dance. To continue her training and education she went to Virginia Commonwealth University where she received her BFA in Dance Performance and Choreography.
During her time at VCU, she had the opportunity to perform in many works set by her peers for film as well as for the stage. She had the opportunity to perform in faculty works set by: Eric Rivera, Scott Putman, and Judy Steel. Emily was also excited to be selected to perform in guest artist Helen Simoneaus piece that was set on just a few of the VCU dancers.In 2018, her school hosted the American College Dance Association Mid- Atlantic South Conference, in which Emily had the opportunity to work behind the scenes to make the conference happen. Emily was also invited to perform a tap piece in an art gallery for RVA On Display in 2017. Her more recent performance opportunity was as a dance extra in a music video for Australian artist, Yanni Burton.
Emily wishes to continue chasing her dreams as a performer as well as teaching the next generations of dancers. She is excited to share her knowledge and passion with other artists!
Flynn lives by the motto of “Be Curious, Not Judgmental”. Flynn Wallace began dancing at two years old and immediately fostered a love for ballet. She has trained with the Atlanta Ballet, British Academy of Performing Arts, and The Georgia Ballet. She has also attended multiple summer internships with the American Ballet Theater, and Joffrey. Flynn has been trained in Ballet, Modern, Contemporary, Jazz, and Musical Theater. Her love of dance has quickly evolved into helping young people achieve their goals and become passionate people through dance.
Jasmine Lee is a Maryland native who has over 25 years of dance training and experience. She trained under prestigious dance studios, companies, and teachers such as the Dance Theater of Harlem and the Joffrey Ballet School. Loving dance led Jasmine to attend Towson University receiving her BFA in dance performance and choreography.
While at Towson, Jasmine was on the Pom Squad for three years, held leadership positions, and competed at UDA College Nationals in 2015 and 2016. The Towson University Pom Squad helped Jasmine discover her passion for performing on the football field and basketball court.
Jasmine has auditioned and prepped with teams in the DMV area and was a member of the first ever Arena Football League dance team in Baltimore. For two years Jasmine danced for The Washington Wizards and relocated to Atlanta to dance for Hawks! During her three seasons with the Atlanta Hawks Jasmine founded Nxt Lvl Prep. Nxt lvl prep helps dancers at any level gain the tools and knowledge needed for sports entertainment auditions. Throughout the year hosting masterclasses and training programs specializing in the Pro Dance Style.
Kendall Alexander was born in New York, and graduated from Slippery Rock University in 2020 with degrees in Dance and Psychology. Before she moved to Atlanta, Kendall traveled to India, Malaysian, and Thailand to teach workshops and choreograph. Kendall has also performed her choreographic work in numerous festivals including Koresh Dance Festival, ACDA Festival, MAD Festival 2020, Play Rick Research and much more! Additionally, she was a company member of the Adinkra Dance Project for 2 years. Presently, Kendall is working as a freelance dancer and choreographer around Atlanta with the intention of making new connections to expand her career along the way.
Kristi started dancing at the age of 2 at Tumble N’ Dance in Stockbridge, Ga. She continued her training insisting of hip hop, jazz, tap, ballet, lyrical/contemporary, and musical theatre at the same studio until she graduated high school in 2018. Entering college at GSU, majoring in Media Entrepreneurship, Kristi participated and co-owned a dance team through her freshman and junior year. Senior year she started her very own team where she trained her team in hiphop and lyrical/contemporary as a senior project.
With over 20 years of dedication to dance, Kristi still continues to dance, teach classes, perform for local artist, and more.
Kyrieá “KC” Crudup is a versatile and talented dance instructor and administrative professional with an impressive background spanning over 15 years in teaching dance, cheerleading, and gymnastics.
She started her performing arts journey as a singer and musical theater performer. From there her love for tumbling propelled her into gymnastics and competitive cheer. She later transitioned to dance-based performances and has since been trained in various styles such as Modern, Ballet, Hip-hop, Contemporary/Lyrical, and African, as well as apparatus-based dance such as Artistic Pole and Lyra.
Kyrieá has a Master of Science in Biotechnology from Morehouse School of Medicine and is also a CPR/First Aid certified group fitness instructor. She is a strong advocate for diversity in both arts and sciences and finds joy in motivating others to gain confidence through movement in her classes!
Lashonda Johnson is a Performer and Choreographer who now resides in Atlanta, GA. She was born in Williamsport, PA and earned her BFA in Dance with a concentration in Performance and Choreography from Slippery Rock University in 2019. In her movement, Lashonda breaks the wall between the performers and the viewers, making it accessible for everyone involved to have an experience. Pulling from her love of studying others, Lashonda creates her movement from her own experiences as well as her peers, being sure to handle it with great empathy and care. During her time in Atlanta, Lashonda was a part of T Lang's 'Incubation Leaming Laboratory Residency Program directly following graduation, eventually presenting her evening length work Corners Kept At Bay. Following this Lashonda has continued to present work with companies and organizations in the Atlanta community such as Dance Canvas and Full Radius Dance. Lashonda has also presented her choreography in festivals and shows in Atlanta such as, FemmeFest, Fall in the Fourth, and Play.Risk. Research. In the future, Lashonda plans to continue choreographing and presenting work around the Atlanta area.
Rocket is professional dancer originally from New Bedford, Ma now living in the Atlanta area. He believes that dance is not just about the steps, but about the emotions and stories we can convey through movement. With hid technical training in Modern, Jazz, Contemporary African Dance, and Ballet, he brings a diverse range of styles to his choreography.
Having grown up immersed in hip hop culture and music, he developed a unique style that blends the energy and groove of hip hop with the fluidity and expressiveness of contemporary movement. He takes an experimental approach, exploring different mediums and techniques to enhance my choreography. Rocket finds that collaborating with other dancers and artists brings a fresh perspective and sparks new ideas.
Ultimately, Rockets goal is to foster a supportive and inclusive environment where dancers can grow and flourish. Whether you're a beginner or an experienced dancer, he wants to create a space where everyone feels valued and encouraged to explore their creativity.
